This work provides the reader with a state-of-the-art knowledge of heterogeneous networking in a multivendor environment. The contributed chapters cover strategical issues concerning the models, network and service interworking, Internet protocols over ATM networks, heterogeneous network management issues and the practical experience with multimedia in broadband network testbeds.
