This book focuses on internal management contracts and includes contributions analyzing the economic, political, legal, historical and cultural context in which such contracts are being implemented. It particularity concentrated on devising an approach that is international, pluridisciplinary and truly comparative. Moreover, it broaches those (sometimes) neglected sectors and issues, at least at the international level, such as the role of trade unions, professional associations, local authorities, as well as relationships among stakeholders and trusts. Although based on European countries, including Germany, Denmark, France, United Kingdom and Sweden, the research presented herein extends to New Zealand, Canada and the United States.
