Jean Baptiste Fourier (1768-1830) published a paper in the year 1807 on partial differential equations for treating the problem of heat conduction through solid materials. In solving the equations, he found that many periodic functions could be expanded by a trigonometric series. In this book, a detailed explanation of an FT itself and stories on related fields of research are given. How to electronically implement an FT in applications is also described. All of the descriptions are aimed at readers in the middle of a university education. Readers: electronic engineering and theoretical physics experts, applied mathematicians.
